1. Microsoft Anti-Spyware - This is simply the best at getting rid of spyware. Plus it is free for the time being. So get it while it is still free.
2. Spyware Doctor - Manual scans remove spyware based on a definition list, and the OnGuard feature prevents spyware from installing. $29.99
3. Spybot - Along with spyware-removal tools, Spybot includes a file shredder and start-up manager. Freeware
4. Ad-aware - Ad-aware scans computers for known spyware and tracking cookies, then deletes what it finds. Freeware
Cool Programs that do cool stuff:

It even recover accidentally deleted files from the Recycle Bin. This does come with a price. Free to try $39.95 to buy.
2. WinRAR - This program is the best when it comes ot unzipping files. It makes WinZip look like a doll. Free to try; $29.99 to buy.
3. Super mp3 Recorder Professional - This thing is just fun. If you have a mic then you can recored yourself or anyone else and then play it back. Some version are free. But 6.0 is $29.99 to buy.
4. Skype - Make calls anywhere in the world over the Internet. It is also completely free.
5. Google Earth/Pro - This is a fun program that lets you just look all over the Earth. It is great for traveling a lot. It is just a huge map that can zoom in very close. If you have the money then I would go for Google Earth Pro. It has a lot more options and it is a lot better then regular.
6. Easy mp3 converter 1.27c - If you have any MP3 files and need to burn them onto an audio CD, or you need to encode your favorite WAV files, you'll need software that creates MP3 and WAV files. Easy MP3 Converter includes an MP3 encoder and decoder, with features including support for MP3, MP2, Xing VBR, and CD-quality WAV files, automatic volume normalization, fast WAV-to-MP3 encoding, and batch file conversion. Free to try; $19.99 to buy.
7. Shareaza - To me this is the best file sharing program out there. It does it all. It is a little more advanced. If you are just starting out to download files then this is most likely not for you. If you have been doing it for awhile and are a pro then I would say check this out!
8. Dreamweaver - This is a program that lets you make webpages and it puts microsoft frontpage to shame in the process. It lets you do just about anything and you can create some pretty amazing webpages with it if you know what you are doing.
DVD Burning Programs:
1. DVD Platinum X Copy - This is probably my favorite burning program. It does most of the DVD's that I need. This program decrpyes the DVD for me then I put in a blank one and then I'm finshed. I have only had one DVD not work with this program. Cost money.
2. DVD Shrink - This is a cool program that lets you customize your DVD. Say you don't want the credit or the extras at the end. Well with this, you just simple take them out and burn what you want.
3. Super Copy DVD - Very similar to any other one. It just copies the DVD then you replace it with a blank DVD and it burns it for you.
4. DVD Decrypter - This program basically decrypes your DVD for you. There is a encoding on every DVD and this take it off so that you can burn it. Freeware.
Anti-Virus Programs:
1. Norton Anti-Virus 2006 - This would be my favorite. It does it all for me.
2. NOD 32 - This is also a favorite of a lot of people that I know.
3. McAfee - Easy to install and set up, but I don't find it all that great of a virus protection program. Others may.
